Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a surprisingly effective antimalware tool freeware. It is a malware remover relatively fast, with quick scan taking about 8 minutes, even with programs of other high-resource running. The heuristics engine proved on multiple computers during empirical testing that has been able to determine the difference between false positives and dangerous applications.
The app has some nice features rolled in too. It supports multiple disk scanning, including network drives, shortcut menu options, including an analysis of demand for individual files and the option FileASSASSIN under section More tools to delete files locked. The interface is simple, but pleasing to the eye and well-organized. Tabs live just below the oversized logo, with few options per tab to limit the mess. The installation process was fast enough, but interestingly offered a well-kept changes and immediate update of definition files.
